2026 RC PRO-AM RACE REPORT
Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina delivered a brutal final day at the 2026 RC ProAm . Lower Mains Became Survival Battles
The lower mains quickly showed what kind of Sunday this would become at Lake Waccamaw — rough, technical, and unforgiving. In the 10-minute Cayote Presents Spt EBuggy C Main, Sam Barnett dominated from the front, stretching his lead from 5 seconds to more than 30 before winning at 15 laps in 10:08.708 while also setting the fastest lap of the race with a 37.978. Emma Massengill finished second, while Pete Dickerson secured the final transfer spot in a chaotic race filled with flame-outs, broken parts, and constant marshal action.
The 20-minute Assault RC Presents Spt Nitro Buggy B Main became one of the biggest transfer battles of the day. Derek Dent controlled the race from the start, building a lead of more than 12 seconds before winning at 32 laps in 20:39.332. Ken Brisbane and Kesley Alves completed the transfer spots into the 30-minute A Main, while Will Ivey charged from 9th on the grid but narrowly missed the bump after a hard-fought comeback drive.
That same pressure carried into the TrackTac Tire Treatment E-Truggy B Main, where Kendrick Cummings took the win ahead of Shayna Frissora. The final transfer spot came down to a dramatic finish, with Derrick Harris edging Kevin Miller by less than a second as the blown-out racing line continued to punish drivers late into the day.
2026 RC ProAm Nitro Mains
Once the headline mains began, the pace escalated immediately. In the 30-minute Open Nitro Truggy A Main, one of the closest races of the weekend unfolded over nearly the full half-hour. Cole Ogden started 12th on the grid, worked through pit stops, managed traffic, and stayed close enough to capitalize late after Mad Maddy Long led large stretches of the race. With fuel windows reshuffling the order and lap traffic constantly interfering with the leaders, the battle remained alive almost to the end before Ogden completed a remarkable comeback win at 53 laps in 30:16.887. Long finished only 4.308 seconds back on 53/30:21.195, while Colton Furnari took third at 52/30:17.822. Alex Thomas finished fourth on 52/30:33.045, and Dylan Coe rounded out the official top 5 at 50/30:15.499. Ogden also recorded a blistering 32.652 fastest lap, while Long answered with 33.123 and Furnari with 32.848, underscoring how serious the pace was at the front.
Nitro Truggy belonged to Carter Bright. In another 30-minute final, Bright built a 16-second lead, then stretched the advantage to nearly two laps as the field battled fuel stops, flame-outs, and the roughest track conditions of the afternoon. Bright’s consistency never wavered, and he won with 48 laps in 30:24.431, one lap ahead of Davy Tallent’s 47/30:11.619. Charlie Lay finished third at 46/30:37.939, Chris Harris was fourth on 45/30:22.553, and Kesley Alves completed the official top 5 at 44/29:41.039. Bright also laid down the race-fast 35.458 lap. Derek Dent was one of the storylines deeper in the order, charging from the back of the grid toward the front before trouble ended the run.
The 30-minute Ultimate Racing 40+ Nitro Buggy final produced one of Sunday’s wildest reversals. Marlowe Bright built a 12-second lead, then extended it to more than 30 seconds, and for long stretches looked completely in command. But late flame-outs and final-minute drama changed everything. Josh Fine stayed within striking distance, survived the closing chaos, and stole the win at 47 laps in 29:58.934, beating Bright’s 47/30:15.179 by 16.245 seconds. Brent Densford finished third at 46/29:33.889, Mitch Crawford was fourth at 46/30:18.709, and CJ Serrano completed the official top 5 at 46/30:28.048. Bright still recorded the fastest lap of the race at 35.086, but Fine was the one still standing when the final minute turned upside down.
The feature nitro showdown, the 30-minute Pro Nitro Buggy A Main, delivered exactly the kind of premium battle expected from a national-level finale. Camden Lime and Cole Ogden spent the opening phases of the race separated by roughly 3 seconds, then repeatedly by less than 2 seconds, while both worked through heavy lap traffic and some of the ugliest rough-track sections of the weekend. The lead changed tone after contact, with Ogden reportedly handing the spot back, and from there Lime reset, found clean air, and began to stretch things out. Running hard through the washboards, difficult landings, and the technical drop-down, Lime eventually pushed the lead beyond 20 seconds, then past 27 seconds late before the final classification locked him in as the winner at 51 laps in 30:01.355. Ogden finished second at 50/29:58.228, Mad Maddy Long was third at 50/30:31.005, Alex Thomas finished fourth on 49/30:10.145, and Colton Furnari completed the official top 5 at 49/30:25.691. Lime also turned the race’s fastest lap with 33.507, capping one of the most complete drives of the event.
2026 RC Proam Electric Mains
On the electric side, Sunday produced both sweeps and split decisions. Mike Wolford set the benchmark in Cayote Spt EBuggy, winning A1 with 17 laps in 10:26.760 while Cam Hamel chased him to the line just 3.790 seconds back at 17/10:30.550. Chris Harris, Charles Caudill, and Derek Dent completed that top 5. In A2, Dee Nice answered with a sharp win at 16/10:31.961, beating Wolford by only 2.992 seconds as the gaps came back under two seconds late and the rough middle sections forced repeated mistakes and rollovers. Wolford still secured the overall, with Dee Nice second overall, Cam Hamel third, Chris Harris fourth, and Charles Caudill fifth in the official top 5.
40+ EBuggy was one of the tightest classes of the day. Mark Reed won A1 at 16/10:02.793, only 5.443 seconds ahead of Kendrick Cummings, with Kevin Miller, Greg Smith, and Brian Burnette completing the top 5. Then Cummings came back in A2 and edged Reed by only 0.766 seconds, winning at 15/10:05.957 to Reed’s 15/10:06.723, with Alan Bland right there in third at 15/10:11.634. The late order shuffled constantly, and several of the lead exchanges were separated by only tenths. Reed still claimed the overall, with Cummings second overall, Kevin Miller third, Alan Bland fourth, and Greg Smith fifth in the official top 5.
Int Ebuggy turned into a showcase for Bradley Lingerman’s patience. Lingerman recovered from early mistakes, then used consistency to win A1 at 17/10:17.679, 12.302 seconds clear of Josh Parrish’s 17/10:29.981. Joe Stikeleather, Ashton Webb, and Justin Simonson completed that first-leg top 5. In A2, Lingerman again came through at 16/10:05.806, this time 22.572 seconds ahead of Webb, with Parrish only 0.062 behind Webb for third. Cash Pieri and Joe Stikeleather rounded out the top 5. Lingerman’s overall title was decisive, with the official top 5 overall being Bradley Lingerman, Josh Parrish, Ashton Webb, Joe Stikeleather, and Cash Pieri.
E-Truggy mains were just as impressive from Garrett Hawbaker, whose Team Associated truck looked planted even as the track deteriorated. Hawbaker won A1 with 18 laps in 10:21.328, taking a 4.666-second victory over Mad Maddy Long. Patrick Rossiter finished third, Garrett McCutchan fourth, and Justin Simonson fifth. In A2, Hawbaker backed it up with 18/10:36.082, a full lap ahead of Rossiter’s 17/10:02.482, while Long came home third only 0.224 seconds behind Rossiter. McCutchan and Ryan Rand completed the top 5. Hawbaker swept the class overall, with the official top 5 overall being Garrett Hawbaker, Mad Maddy Long, Patrick Rossiter, Garrett McCutchan, and Justin Simonson.
Pro EBuggy mains gave Camden Lime another major Sunday victory. In A1, Lime surged to the win at 18/10:17.958 and beat Mad Maddy Long by 16.555 seconds, while Colton Furnari, Alex Thomas, and Patrick Rossiter completed the top 5. Lime also set the fastest lap of the race at 33.043, which stood as the fastest electric lap recorded in the Sunday mains data. In A2, Lime had to fight through traffic and worsening conditions as rain began to arrive, reducing visibility and making the final minutes slick and uncertain. He still came through for another win at 17/10:19.298, 6.347 seconds clear of Long, with Wade Piggott third, Garrett Hawbaker fourth, and Cole Ogden fifth. Lime completed the overall victory, and the official top 5 overall were Camden Lime, Mad Maddy Long, Colton Furnari, Wade Piggott, and Alex Thomas.
